Nukkad to Nation / FAQ
Nukkad to Nation FAQ
Quick answers about playing Nukkad to Nation, the free cricket manager game for your browser. If your question is not here, the full manual probably covers it.
Playing the game
What is Nukkad to Nation?
Nukkad to Nation is a cricket management and career game you play in your browser. You start with a city club in a state league and work your way up to a World Cup, as a head coach or as a player.
Is it free?
Yes. You can play the whole game for free, with nothing to download or install.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. The game works on phones, tablets and computers in any modern browser. On a phone you can add it to your home screen to open it like an app.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the game has loaded, your browser keeps its files, so you can keep playing without a connection. Online features such as the leaderboard need a connection.
What is the difference between manager and player mode?
In manager mode you run a team: selection, signings, tactics, training and the board. In player mode you control one cricketer, choose his shots and deliveries, train with XP and fight for selection. See the manager guide and the player guide.
Which formats of cricket can I play?
Seven: Test, first-class, ODI, List A, T20I, T20 and club 40-over cricket, across 20 nations.
Are the players and teams real?
No. Every player, club, league and governing body is fictional and generated for your world, so each career is different.
Can I bat and bowl myself in 3D?
Yes. Every quick match, online game, Star XI and tournament match is played in 3D, and in a career you press Play in the middle on the live match screen. You bat with the classic PC cricket keys (S, W and D with the arrows, Shift to loft), bowl with a pitch marker and a run-up meter, and take catches as the ring closes. As a manager you control your whole team; in player mode you control your own cricketer.
Can I play with a controller or on my phone?
Yes. Xbox and PlayStation controllers work in the 3D match: the left stick sets your feet and you flick the right stick the way you want to hit, with the triggers to loft or come down the track. On a phone, turn it sideways and swipe to bat: the direction is the shot, the length of the swipe is the power and the moment you swipe is your timing.
Is there a practice mode?
Yes, the nets. Open Nets in 3D from the title screen or from the Tactics, Training or Me page, choose to bat or bowl, and pick the kind of bowler or batter you want to face. Nothing you do in the nets counts towards your career, so you can practise as long as you like.
Do I have to start a career to play?
No. Press Play now on the main menu and you are in a 3D match in one tap. Quick matches, online games, Star XI and tournaments need no career at all; the manager and player careers are there when you want the long game.
Am I playing real people online?
Yes, when someone is free: the game pairs you with a player close to your rating. When nobody is, it starts a match against a bot after a few seconds, and the bot is always named as a bot. Bot games do not change your rating.
Does Star XI cost money?
No. Nothing in Nukkad to Nation is for sale. Star XI packs are bought with coins that you earn by playing matches and completing objectives.
How do I make the game run smoother?
Open Settings and lower the graphics level: Low suits phones and older computers, Ultra needs a good graphics card. Auto picks a level for your device, and during a match the game lowers the resolution a little if it cannot keep up.
Can I choose my shots?
Yes. In player mode the match stops when you are on strike and you pick from up to six real shots chosen for that ball, from the cover drive to the ramp. Each one shows the field, its risk and its likely runs. You also make the call when there is a second run on. When you bowl, you pick the delivery on a pitch map.
Saves and accounts
How do I save my career?
The game saves automatically every time it stops. You can also save to three slots and download a save file as a backup from the Save and account page.
Can I move my save to another device?
Yes. Download a save file on one device and import it on the other, or sign in with Google, when available, to keep saves online.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play as a guest and your saves stay on your device. Signing in is only needed for online saves and the leaderboard.
What data does the game collect?
Guests share only anonymous usage statistics, if analytics is on. Signed-in players share their Google name, email and picture for their profile. The privacy policy has the details.
